- Description
In 1996, Ji Qiang, director of the China Geological Museum discovered dinosaur fossils in the Jehol Biota in western Liaoning, China. The dinosaur has a short primitive feather and has the characteristics of a dinosaur and a bird. He thought it is a transitional animal between dinosaurs and birds, then named it "Sinosauropteryx", which was later confirmed by scientists as a small carnivorous dinosaur. At the 110th Anniversary Celebration of National Geographic magazine, President Clinton held the latest issue of National Geographic magazine with a picture of the tail bird restoration, praising the Chinese dragon bird, the original ancestor, and the tail feather bird as one of the most important scientific discoveries.
