Sinosauropteryx Dinosaur Enamel Pins

In 1996, Ji Qiang, director of the China Geological Museum, discovered dinosaur fossils in the Jehol Biota in western Liaoning, China. The dinosaur had short, primitive feathers and characteristics of both dinosaurs and birds. He thought it was a transitional animal between dinosaurs and birds and named it "Sinosauropteryx"; this was later confirmed by scientists to be a small carnivorous dinosaur. At the 110th Anniversary Celebration of National Geographic magazine, President Clinton held up the latest issue of the magazine featuring a picture of the tail bird restoration, praising the Chinese dragon bird, the original ancestor, and the tail feather bird as one of the most important scientific discoveries.
