- Description
Every year on November 1st and 2nd is the traditional festival of the Dead Day in Mexico. The Day of the Dead is one of the most grand and unique festivals in Mexico. Native Mexicans believe that death is not a sad thing. Instead, they should welcome the undead to go home with songs and dances and colorful celebrations. After the Spanish colonists came to Mexico, they combined the Western Halloween tradition with the local indigenous customs to create the Day of the Dead. In 2003, UNESCO listed the Mexican Day of the Dead as an intangible cultural heritage. Now, every time the Day of the Dead is coming, the Mexican government will hold a large-scale parade celebration.
